Gender violence, wether physical, sexual, psychological or else, often remains hidden behind appearances. This awareness campaign aims to help women undisclose the truth and seek help.

concept
We chose to represent some seemingly normal couples: they could be long-term lovers, newly-met lovebirds, friends or even just acquaintance. They are depicted in professional-like portraits, where faces and bodies are partially covered by our awareness message box. Domestic violence is, in fact, often well hidden under the most unsuspected appearances, remaining invisible to the rest of the world.
We launch the message that there is a chance to unveil abuse, by calling the hotline and reaching for help.

Social Media
We created a social media format were we kept on using the pink box's graphic expedient to shed a light of awareness on less-known kinds of abuse. The violent gesture is hidden to be then unveiled and made clear.
We also published an instagram filter for women: they could shoot selfies or short form videos with their face covered by the call-to-action box. The box gave a sense of protection and censorship, so - if they felt comfortable - they could share a personal story of abuse, or simply show their solidarity to the cause by sharing the message.
